Formative and summative assessments

Formative assessments to support your learning will be held for each module at the time of the subsequent module tutorial. Answers from this assessment will be posted with the learning resources.

There will be two (2) summative assessment points in the course: a mid-semester summative assessment on material from the first five modules; and the end of course summative assessment on material from all modules, but with a larger weighting to the final 6 modules. Assessment will be by multiple choice questions (MCQs), and objective structured clinical exam (OSCE).  [Borderline candidates may be invited for oral examination (viva voce) by 2 examiners.]

There must be a 70% attendance at the modules plus completion of the exam for any certificate to be awarded. There will be three different types of certificate awarded, depending upon the marks achieved and attendance; a Certificate of Merit; a Certificate of Completion; and a Certificate of Participation. In addition, the highest mark will receive special acknowledgement and an award of $1000.
