Researcher biography

Dr Shini is a scientist with an extensive experience in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences. Her teaching and research interests include: Physiology, Anatomy and Histology, Cell and Tissue Biology and Immunology. Dr Shini's research projects are focused on understanding neuro-endocrine-immune and metabolic responses in animals and humans. She uses animal models of stress and or diseases to study cellular, molecular and epigenetic regulatory mechanisms as a paradigm for a better understanding of adaptive/maladaptive pathophysiological responses and diseases treatment in animals & humans.

Some of her research projects include:

Stress-induced immunosuppression in animal models.

Studies on Fatty Liver Haemorrhagic Syndrome in a chicken model.

The use of probiotics as alternatives to antibiotics.
