The University of Queensland is introducing some exciting changes to its biomedical science offerings in 2017, providing greater flexibility and more choice than ever before.
In addition to the University’s flagship three-year Bachelor of Science program (majoring in Biomedical Science), UQ will offer two new ways to study biomedical science next year.
These are the three-year Bachelor of Biomedical Science program and the four-year Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) (majoring in Biomedical Science) program.
The University will also offer a new four-year dual program combination, the Bachelor of Biomedical Science/Bachelor of Science, allowing students to combine the versatility and breadth of a science degree, with the in-depth knowledge of a biomedical science degree.
Biomedical scientists provide the foundation of modern healthcare. Working with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, they diagnose disease, evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, and research causes and cures for disease.
Biomedical science graduates have excellent career prospects in management, research, education and specialised laboratory work.
The Bachelor of Science (majoring in Biomedical Science) and the Bachelor of Biomedical Science programs are ideal for students seeking a biomedical science career, or a pathway to study medicine and other allied health programs.
The Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) majoring in Biomedical Science is a great choice for students considering a research career, or interested in clinical research.
