School activities and events
Experience Science
Run by the UQ Faculty of Science, Experience Science gives Year 10, 11 and 12 students an insight into what it's like to study science at UQ, and how science is applied in industry and everyday life.
Participants attend lectures and hands-on workshops.
Young ChangeMakers
Young ChangeMakers is a 4-day experience that provides Year 11 students with a unique and inspiring opportunity to discover, learn and engage with UQ’s academic community and like-minded students.
The program presents students with an exciting opportunity for academic extension and enrichment and is centred around igniting young change makers’ passions for leadership, academic achievement and community development in today’s global society
- Young ChangeMakers helps exceptional Year 11 students transition to university through extension and enrichment activities.
- It includes a residential camp at UQ St Lucia and access to an online community.
- A biomedical sciences workshop is included in the camp activities.
The Young Achievers Program
The Young Achievers Program supports the tertiary study and career aspirations of senior secondary school students from disadvantaged backgrounds by engaging and mentoring them throughout their academic journey and beyond.

UQ Open Days offer a taste of the UQ experience, and our activities and information sessions provide insight into what it's like to study in the School of Biomedical Sciences.
We're heavily involved in UQ Open Days, and invite high school students and teachers, and parents accompanying children, to join our activities.

UQ's doors are open year-round to visitors from schools, as well as individuals and families.

Discover our Integrated Pathology Learning Centre
The Integrated Pathology Learning Centre (IPLC) is a modern museum and educational facility.
An outstanding collection of over 3500 pathology specimens are displayed in a dynamic teaching and learning environment. Displays incorporate objects from the Marks-Hirschfeld Museum of Medical History, along with the latest information on health-related topics, highlighting the progression in the understanding of human disease from past to present.
