Researcher biography

Dr Andy Kuo is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Team Leader at the Centre for Integrated Preclinical Drug Development (CIPDD), Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at The University of Queensland. Andy had extensive training in efficacy profiling and new drug development in the pain field, with specialist expertise in CNS pharmacology, pharmacodynamics and in vitro drug screening. Since award of his PhD in 2013, Andy has published four papers in international peer-reviewed journals.

Since 2013, Andy has supervised one and co-supervised another undergraduate international exchange student on a summer research project and co-supervised two Honours students. Andy is currently co-supervising three PhD students. Since July 2014, Andy has been actively contributing to research study management including logistics, research assistant management, ordering, animal ethics application preparation, as an alternate chief investigator, quality system management and liaison with stakeholders. Andy is also a point of contact for a large ARC Linkage Grant entitled "Efficacy Profiling Innovation in Pain Therapeutics Discovery" in collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma. Andy is the Study Director for many of the non-GLP/toxicology based research projects conducted at CIPDD.
