Dr Sally Martin graduated from the University of London (UK) with a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She is an expert cell biologist, and has been working for many years on the generation of cortical neurons from pluripotent stem cells. Sally works out of Professor Ernst Wolvetang’s group (Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology) on a joint project that is generating engineered selectable and traceable spinal interneurons for transplantation studies, and to characterise the propensity of these neurons to form specific and functional synaptic connections.
