Mater Research is a world class medical research institute based at South Brisbane (Mater Hospital Campus) and Woolloongabba (TRI Building) with projects that run across a broad range of clinical and biomedical research areas including:

  • Mothers’, Babies and Women’s Health
  • Neurosciences and Cognitive Health
  • Chronic Disease Biology and Care
  • Cancer Biology and Care
  • Optimising Acute Care

Mater Research is committed to supporting the researchers of tomorrow by providing students with excellent project opportunities with outstanding supervisors. There are currently a range of research opportunities available at Mater Research for students who are enrolled in a Biomedical, Medical, Allied Health, Nursing or Midwifery degree who would be interested in undertaking a short term, Honours, Masters or Research Higher Degree (PhD or MPhil) project starting late 2017 or 2018.

If this is you, the Introduction to Mater Research – Student Information Evening will provide a valuable opportunity for you to learn more about current Mater Research programs, upcoming opportunities, the application process, scholarships and financial assistance to attend conferences, as well as meet Mater Research staff, current students and early career researchers.
