Nominations

  • Students may self-nominate or nominate another eligible student.
  • If you are nominated by someone else and have not self-nominated, you will be contacted to confirm that you wish to be considered.
  • Only confirmed eligible nominees are included in the selection process.

  • Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences

- Bachelor of Biomedical Science
- Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours)

  • Faculty of Science

- Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biomedical Science
- Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours), majoring in Biomedical Science

How candidates are assessed

The final score combines academic achievement and Graduate Attributes on a 7-point scale.

  • Academic Achievement (60%) based on a weighted academic score. 
  • Graduate Attributes (40%) based on evidence provided in the nomination

Academic achievement

Academic performance is calculated from the first attempt of completed coursework using these weightings:

  • First year courses and general electives: 20%
  • Second year courses: 35%
  • Third year and Honours courses: 45%

Nomination evidence is assessed against the following attributes found in UQ policy

Faculty submission and notification

  • Selected nominees are submitted to either HMBS or Science, based on student cohort.
  • Your faculty will contact you if you have been nominated.
  • Due to nomination numbers, nominees who are not selected will not be individually notified.

Nominations open once per semester and will be announced in the Biomed Brief and via Blackboard.
