Researchers in this theme focus on identifying and supporting the complex and evolving clinical needs of people living with Motor Neuron Disease (MND).
This involves bringing together multidisciplinary teams (e.g., neurologists, speech pathologists, respiratory physicians, physiotherapists) in partnership with the MND community to address care priorities, co-design interventions and care pathways, translate findings into clinical practice, and ultimately maximise quality of life.
Why our studies matter
While we cannot yet cure MND, clinical care research aims to provide people with the disease the best possible care with a focus on maintaining dignity, function, and comfort for as long as possible.
Our collaborative approach to clinical care research ensures that clinical innovations directly address the aspects of life that patients themselves identify as most crucial to maintaining wellbeing, whether through communication support that sustains social connections or integrated care models that reduce the burden of navigating multiple healthcare services while coping with progressive symptoms.
