The biology of the nervous system and the organisation of these cells into functional circuits that process information is the study of neurobiology. One of the largest research themes in the School, partially due to the close association off SBMS with the neighbouring Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) in which a number of staff have joint of affiliate appointments, our researchers are studying how the nervous system functions under both healthy and diseased conditions including obesity, diabetes, neurological disorders and brain cancer.
